El 3 de mayo es Día de la Santa Cruz, en San Luis el gremio de los Albañiles acompañaron la peregrinación como es de costumbre.
Historia:
Esta fiesta se remonta a la época de la Colonia, cuando se acostumbraba colocar una cruz al iniciar una construcción, como un símbolo de protección, buenaventura y ayuda, de manera que hombres y mujeres de ese sector tomaron esta fecha como su día.
El padre Hugo Valdemar, vocero de la Arquidiócesis de México, explicó que el “Día de la Santa Cruz” es una fiesta litúrgica que representa el triunfo de la vida sobre la muerte y la resurrección, además, es la representación del cristianismo.
En entrevista explicó que esta fiesta nace como una tradición en el siglo IV, cuando Santa Elena, esposa de Constancio Cloro, Rey de Constantinopla, realizó una expedición a los lugares santos donde recuperó la cruz donde Jesús fue crucificado y, a partir de entonces, surge una exaltación de este símbolo religioso.
Comentó que durante la época de la Colonia, cuando iniciaba la construcción de algún inmueble se colocaba una cruz.
Misas en construcciones
Esta festividad, dijo, fue retomada por los trabajadores de la construcción y ahora la han asumido como propia. “Tiene mucho arraigo entre los albañiles”, destacó.
Actualmente se llevan a cabo grandes celebraciones y misas en las construcciones y al mismo tiempo esta fiesta sirve de convivencia entre albañiles, ingenieros, arquitectos y dueños de las obras.
Por desgracia, opinó Valdemar, “nuestros albañiles caen en excesos y consumen grandes cantidades de alcohol” en su día.
